Firstly,
          I'd just like to start this post.. by saying that I apologize for A: the terribly lame-o title, and B: my recent blogging inconsistency.
PHEW! Glad that's out of the way!

The Most Beautiful Art

Why hello art-enthusiasts,
                                       today I am going to be taking you on a walk.
                                       An art walk. A walk of art. Not a walk at all but.. a journey of discovery.

                    This first piece, I like to call "The Face."



 This next work of art... has received the title of ''Face Free'' due to the absence in face.
 
     This masterpiece called ''Face and Arms" was named after its stunning eyes.

This beauty below, is none other than ''Zelený". 

This one tells us  a story: in the city of "Purpayshia" everyone is required by law to have purple hair. Failure to conform, results in a public execution.

The Post-Birthday Post

Hey all! My birthday has come and gone ( as has Halloween) and it was one to remember!


FIRST, I went to the fish hatchery during a field trip.. (I was dressed in costume.. hah. Weirdo.)

Here's a SPOOKY-fanfishtastic video.. shot with my iPhone camera.(just a heads up) 
Then I worked my magically non-existent powers~~ and converted it into a grungy looking' black and white film flick.

After the field tripping extravaganza.. I spent some time with my family.. Ate cake, went out for dinner, opened presents,.. and then the trick or treaters' rolled on in.  I also went to take my learner's test.. and yeah.. better luck next time ;)

I've enrolled in a writing class.. so that I can learn, improve, and grow like a metaphorical flower.. in my own writing abilities. (BUT I"LL ALWAYS LOVE MY RUN ON SENTENCES AND MY COMMA SPLICES CANNOT BE TAMED.)

*pretends to clear throat* Life. Right.

Another class I signed up for.. is called ''Agriculture and Sustainable Resources''.
Agriculture for short.. Or for somewhat Scottish people like myself..

Or if you're an extreme agriculture fanatic, and love talking about plant life with yo groupies.. then

Back to the topic though- I've been enjoying Agriculture class. 
Walking into a greenhouse; is certainly a magical experience.. and next week my class is going on a field trip to a fish hatchery! Whoop da whoop! (All expenses paid+PIZZA)
I'll be sure to keep you updated.. or perhaps I won't. 
Meh. Probably not. Well.. Wait I probs should.. since this is my informal little web writing world.. which some of you actually read!

How To Survive Picture Day.. and live to tell the tale.

The splendour that is ''School Picture Day'', ahhh yes.. don't even get me started on this one.. but WAIT you already have!!! There's no going back now!

Here's my fool-proof plan.. that even the most foolish of fool-hearty fools couldn't foolishly foil.
(alliteration... ;) y'all.)

As you're getting ready in the morning... remember to brush your teeth, hair, nose hair,  and keep those wild eyebrows in place with a handy cosmetic product called '"Eyebrow Gel'' that you can purchase at your local drugstore. 
Stay calm!! You're half-way done.. now it's only a matter of getting dressed, fed, and getting yer' sorry self to the premises. 

Now that you're readily awaiting your school portrait, remember to straighten your back, and tilt your head towards the camera lens as instructed... give 'em your  cheesiest grin, and hopefully it'll turn out half decent.

Mountain Air, A Maddening Moth, and Meeting New People!

Today I hiked up a mountain! The blackflies were a biting, and the thought of hungry bears was semi-frightening'..but we kept on hiking.

I hope you still remember me.. my name's Jenna.. I take time to fill you in on my crazy life, and sometimes you feel like reading what I post here? Anything ring a bell?
I have made my reappearance! I have returned! 
Back and ready to yack!

So.. what else have I been up to, as of late?
Aside from this little hiking expedition, I recently got back from a school ''Leadership Retreat Conference''.
During this time spent away from  home; I met loads of new people ( YALL ROCK), ate great camp food, played all sorts of interesting games, and even started to plan out events for the upcoming school year.

A few things I learned from this experience

1. Jenna.. when it comes to the High Ropes Course.. face it.. your harness-putting-on-skills, could use a little brushing up :p


2. Embrace your socially awkwardness... yup mhhmm.

3. Contact Lenses are evil.. owyowyow

4. Get outside of your comfort zone more.. it can be pretty worth while

AND NOW FOR A STORY..

. So there was this moth that was just chilling out in our cabin( ASTER) And we all tried to find/put an end to it's itty-bitty insect life.. but it oh-so-magically- VANISHED-right before lights out time. Moths and I, usually get along alright, but when it comes  to falling asleep, with the possible threat of ingesting this creature.. or the idea that it could nestle into your ear for the night.. then moths and this girl, don't hit it off super well.
After an unsuccessful moth hunt, and the age-old trick of turning the room light-off and turning on the porch light.. we all drifted off to sleep. The moth episode became a thing of the past.. until I returned home..and  unzipped my suitcase.. guess what fluttered free?


Overall, the leadership retreat was pretty cool and I'm glad I signed up for the class.
I'm looking forward  to continue to get to know everyone better, make a difference at the high school i attend, and make this school year count!

Family, and Irish Worship Music!

Had a much-needed time with family, up in the northern town of Terrace, BC!
I miss you already...but one must not forget the magic of writing letters ;) waaahoo I'm on it.
On the drive-back home, I discovered some new tunes!

And this my friends, is the last month of Summer Vacation!!!
AAAAH!
Tonight is going to be a night full of reminiscing, remembering, and reflecting.
I'd say more.. but..naah.

Jenna: The Camp Counselor!

Wahoo! Today is the day!

Tonight I'm heading off on another adventure... At 7 pm' I'll be arriving to work as a Counselor, at a Christian-run summer Camp. I can't wait to kick-start my Summer by meeting loads of new people, and  by spreading my love for Jesus!

I've packed my ukulele,
bible,
harmonica,
clothes,
camera,
puppet,
bunch of boring but necessary stuff...
and this really odd hat.. (I made the face myself haha.)

While I'm at camp for these 2 weeks ,( I do come home for the weekends though) I'll make sure to take heaps upon heaps of pictures, and maybe even record some video footage.

Try not to miss me too much ;), I'll talk to you again soon!!

HIPPY ADVENTURE

      Greetings! 

  Not sure if any of you still remember me.. but it's Jenna!

I'm glad to re-vist this blogging-neck-of-the-woods. (If that makes sense hahaha)

I have many things to share with you.. but first thing's first...

my road trip to Nelson, BC!

This past weekend, I was off on an adventure! 

Following a long and windy river, my mom and I

discovered new places, met new faces, and reached

our destination in a recording breaking time of 6 hours!

Haha okay so maybe not so ''record breaking.''

Our destination was the hippy town of Nelson...

This place is  home to musicians, artists, and writers alike.

As you walk through the streets, there's a buzz in the air:

the market was open,  and  musicians were gathering on every street corner...ready to
strum the night away.

There's a lot of history in this town, and the more you wander the more

you begin to discover.

                     On a journey... just ignore the smears on the windshield.. probably just bug-guts..don't even worry about it.

Storytelling Through Art!

Ay my hillbillies, vagabonds, internet stalkers, ogres, wood-land fairies, and 
relatives! (I need to stop with these bizarre intros haha.)

Topic of the day is on ART-but more specifically, the stories that you drawing-folk can
tell through a little cartooning around.

 The story of a cat's dietary struggle... to keep fit, while resisting tasty temptation that lurks at every corner.
(ahaha that makes it sound pretty intense, doesn't it?)

EEEEEP! A young girl encounters her worst nightmare... the dreaded ceiling buggers, and wall clinging octoflies!
(or just bugs..)

Finnley the Walrus just wants a friend... too bad those pesky tusks of his, send everyone a runnin'.


My apologies for the mediocre/(MEH) photo quality... My good-camera didn't feel like cooperating... guess it's just in a bad mood. (In other words I just forgot to charge the battery)
Ah well.. my phone camera does the job.

Compassion

Think of a time when someone gave you a genuine compliment.
I bet it gave you a lift: even if only for a fleeting second.

For those of you that have been following my ''Daily Compliment Series'' here at funkstertrunk- you'll know that those have been more ''jokes'' than compliments. 

                                                                 Example ^ haha

But today I thought I'd switch ''modes'' and talk about how we can build up the people around us,(jokes aside) in our everyday lives. 

I think that in this day in age' there are more lonely/depressed/disheartened individuals than ever before.. due to so many broken families, the influence of media, and simply hearts that are yearning for Jesus.

If you are a follower of Christ, you have been called to love people like Jesus did.
Jesus not only healed thousands, and died on the cross for all our sins.. but he knew how
to show compassion! 

I think we often forget just how meaningful the most simplistic things can be.
You never really know what's going on inside of someone else's life..
Who knows.. the more you start branching out to others.. the more others might just start branching out to you.

    This is a skunk. And uh it's pretty awesome.

There is no knowing whether you and I will see another sunset, another family gathering, or even another day.

So why you and I are still alive... let's make the very most of this one life on Earth that we have.
Care deeply about every person that passes you by, say hello to strangers, dream wildly and help those around you to pursue their dreams as well.

Hey so I felt like writing a blog post.. and uh yeah.
I should most defintiely be a professioal writer pssh yeah.

Hmm how about I tell you about my day so far.
I went to psych class. I started working on some bonus questions.. just because I'm
such an excellent student, pffft. Now I'm in Animation... I'm done my work.. and I could be doing
something slightly more productive like ''Animationy Stuff". But no.

Can't wait for Summer! Going on a hippy road-trip,visitng my favourite people, and working as a Camp Counselor.
