Are you feeling dragged down by a cold? Here are a few of my home remedies to get you back on your feet again.

1. Don't shut down completely.

Now you may or may not agree with this one. Yes you should try to keep rested, and take things easy... but at the same time you shouldn't enter hibernation mode for a good 2 weeks.. Because when you wake up again you won't know what to do with yourself. Basically what I'm saying is still try to take time to do the things you normally love. It will put you in a chipper mood.

2. Chew some gum.

It'll help clear or soothe an aching throat, and might even open your sinuses. Give it a try, I'm chomping on a piece now and feel completely refreshed.

3. Keep Hydrated.

Water reduces the amount of toxins in your body, and essentially it flushes harmful things away. Do yourself a favour and glug some down.

4. Cough Candy.

They might not do any throat healing magic, but hey. They taste delicious.

I've been under the weather lately, (caught a nasty flu bug) and I've had some time today to wander the great abyss I call my bedroom. Poke at things, observe clutter.. but clean? No. Not my style. Anywho, I snapped a couple shots.

I quite enjoy the aged looking effect this one has. To the far right is where I store my scarves. Heaps of them. They hang off a rad hook-like contraption thing ma bob that i picked up from a local shop. Quite nifty. Works wonders at keeping at least one corner of my room in some sort of orderly fashion.
And this sucker happens to be my decision making dice. Haven't
lived a day in my life without her'. In all seriousness I don't use this too often anymore, but it's great fun now and then. I
originally started using it for a philosophy club experiment. More on that later.
Today I thought I'd share a couple oddities with you, that I happened to create myself. The category today being: All Things Abstract. The photo above started out as a simple doodle on the art studio app.

Continuing on the same colour palette of red and black hues, in this shoe painting. (made with some acrylic paint here, and a little oil pastel there.)

I have a new found love of aged looking photographs. They carry you back in time, and take you to new places. They make me feel both nostalgic of another former place or time. Yet the photographs also spark some curiosity into me. And give a strong yearning to explore.
Especially library photos, that each seem to tell a story.

There is something so beautiful about the simplicity of a photograph where an instrument takes centre stage.

I love me a good book. And lately I've come across some fantastic novels of the dystopian genre.

1. Delirium.

Escape into a world where love is considered the most fatal of all diseases. On your 18th birthday you go through a procedure that will save you from the delirium, and you will become cured, matched with a boy/girl of the government's choosing, and practically emotionless.

2. Divergent.

What new life would you choose? In a world that is divided into factions, there are different areas devoted to different traits/personalities. At the age of 16 years old you get the opportunity to transform your life. But if you decide to go after a life in a new faction, than the one you were born and raised in, you're forced to leave what was once your entire world behind.

3. The Maze Runner.

You can hardly remember a thing. All you're able to recall is that you arrived in this place from an elevator lift. This is the spellbinding story of a boy who lost half of his memory on his journey to The Glade. An area which is completely secluded, as well as cut off from his old life. There is a maze which has remained unsolvable for years. And Thomas is wildly curious as to what lies within the maze, and if there maybe is a way out.

I was impressed with all 3 of these novels, and highly recommend you check them out.

The waterfall roars like a lion.
The forest is alive. YOu can feel the old trees smiling. The hikers
were in pure oblivion. Blinded by the beauty, they did not realize that should be afraid.

A little inspiration for your day. From my tumblr world
jennasthename.tumblr.com

Something that I have been extremely fond of lately.. are all things earthy and naturally beautiful. You should see my tumblr right now. You could say it's overflowng with the amount of forest/ and waterfall related photographs.
Welcome to the trunk! This is a place where you can come for inspiration, and a home away from home. I'll be sharing with you a variety of different things. Thoughts for the day, beautiful music (think long grass blowing in the wind, and the plucking of an acoustic guitar with the sun setting in the horizon) I'll show you bits of pieces from my everyday life, such as the photograph above. I was sitting on this deformed looking tree, that's twisted into an almost chair-like shape. And I was wearing my trusty moccasin boots that have braved storms, mud, and all elements.

I hope we have a thing or too in common, and than you too thrive off of a little inspiration! Have a magical day, and once again.. welcome!
